Taylor was known not only for her outstanding athletic ability, but also the intangibles that separate great athletes from good ones.  Her achievements on the soccer field were truly exceptional.   At Suffield High School, she scored 16 goals as a freshman on a team that lost in the 2004 State Finals.  In her sophomore year Taylor scored 17 goals and made the All-Conference team as the Wildcats cruised to the first undefeated season in SHS Girls Soccer history, capped off by her 2 goals in a 4-1 win in the State Championship game.    Her junior year included 27 goals, team MVP honors, an All-State selection, and they won their 2nd consecutive State Championship 1-0 as Taylor assisted on the winning goal.    Her senior year was impressive as well, with 25 goals and 12 assists, another team MVP award to go along with All-State and All-New England honors.  She led the team to another State Final but their bid for 3 in a row ended with a 1-0 loss.   Taylor finished with 86 career goals, which is currently #3 on the All-Time SHS list.     Her soccer career at SHS finished with an incredible team record of 73 wins, 5 losses, and 2 ties, to go with the 4 State Title game appearances and 2 State Championships. She then went on to have a solid career at Providence College, where as a senior she was the second leading scorer on the team.

Taylor had a distinguished Basketball career at SHS.  As a four-year varsity starter she managed to rack up 584 career points as a 3 point specialist, but was most effective as a defender and passer.   She became known for her clutch play, including sparking Suffield to a 4th quarter comeback win over heavily favored Holy Cross as a freshman in the State Tournament.     As a senior she averaged 10 points a game, was the team captain and MVP, and earned All-NCCC honors.

Taylor was also very successful on the Softball field.  She was the starting varsity catcher as a freshman before eventually switching to third base.  She progressed from All-Conference as a Sophmore to All-State as a junior due to a potent bat and game changing speed.  The team improved each year as well, culminating in SHS Softball’s first trip ever to the State Title game her Senior year.   Despite the 1-0 loss it was an amazing turnaround for the program.  The year before she arrived, the team went 3 – 14, but during her 4 years they went 67 – 18 and won back to back NCCC Titles.

Taylor’s individual accomplishments set her apart, as she is one of a select few athletes to be a four year varsity starter in three sports, and among only a handful of athletes in SHS history to be named  to All-State teams in 2 different sports. Combine that with her incredible team success and the result puts her among the elite in the Suffield Athletic Hall of Fame.
